Western Australia's "premier bead store" is leading the way for all beading & craft enthusiasts statewide and across the country.
The Bead Company began business 31 years ago.
Initially the business was run from home. After some time and subsequent growth in business, a shop located in Victoria Park was established. In 1997, the shop was relocated to Belmont. Selling a variety of goods, aimed at both the bridal and craft markets, the business enjoyed acclaim as the place to come to get all things associated with fashion, costume and design. In 2002, jewellery making started to become more accessible and popular along with beading. As craftspeople discovered how inexpensive and how much fun beading could be, this changed the focus of the business.
In July 2002, the owners sold the business after 21 years.
The previous owners have been foremost in assisting the establishment and stocking other bead businesses. And to this day, The Bead Company stocks hundreds of businesses with a range of products associated with beading.
A new direction
The present owners, David and Christine Stanton, have re-focused the business from a 50/50 combination of bridal and beads accessories to one of Australias biggest and highly popular bead businesses.
Attention is focused on customers being friends of the business, providing an ever-increasing variety and high level of stock and improving the look and merchandising in store. This coupled with increased classes in a variety of uses with the businesses vast range of products, has driven The Bead Company to becoming a highly enjoyable and popular place to be for all ages.
More than retail
The Bead Company is also has a wide selection of business customers. This business operates side by side with the retail operation. Although unusual from a modern day management viewpoint, the craft industry is not highly organised or structured, and therefore the two types of customers are provided both with equal and quality consideration.
There are many people who sell beads, both on the Internet and in stores Australia wide. The Bead Company attracts large numbers of people, who love the wide choices that in-store shopping provides. With an enormous range, bright and well-designed stores and happy and helpful staff, The Bead Company is a comfortable shopping experience.
The Bead Company stocks the largest selection of beads and accessories in Western Australia. Swarovski Crystals (an Austrian company with a registered trademark) are the premier crystal producers in the world. Swarovski, rate The Bead Company as one of Australias leading stockists of their bead, diamante, rhinestone and rondell products.
The Bead Company carries a huge selection of colours and sizes of seed and bugle glass beads. The Bead Company stocks a variety of accessories, wires, glues, tools, jigs and looms, jewellery findings, tiger tail, books, patterns, kits, etc.
Popular lines include Bali silver, bone, horn, wood, ceramic beads, chain, craft beads, Czech glass, diamantes, beaded fringes, fresh water pearls, glass mosaics, hematite, magnetic, Indian glass, tribal and African ceramic beads, leather, cord, pewter and tiny trinkets, leadlight pieces, semi-precious, sequins, shell and mother of pearl, threads, Venetian. The world of beads and beading is pretty much covered at The Bead Company.
One of the most common responses of a first-time customer coming to our shop is about the extent of the range and the cleanliness of the shop. The new Osborne Park store, opened on 2 June 2004, is providing customers with additional features not necessarily available at other shops, i.e. 50 parking bays right at the door, more spacious shopping, a larger classroom (with additional classes), Kids Cove and a personal working area known as the Craft Corner.
